STATEMENT OF GUIDELINES APPROVED FALL 2000

TYESA member schools have agreed to adhere to the following curriculum guidelines for an Associates in Science Degree in Engineering Science.

Number of Required Semester Courses for Course Area

4 - Math (Calculus 1,2, Differential Equations, Calculus 3 or Linear Algebra or Statistics)
2 - Physics
1 - Chemistry I
4 - English/Humanities/Social Sciences
1 - Computer Programming (Math software or programming)
1 - Introduction to Engineering
* - (A design experience as a separate course or integrated existing course)


Elective Semester Courses
(Minimum of 6 required)
(A minimum of 2 must be engineering science)

Dynamics
Circuits & Networks 1
Strength of Materials
Thermodynamics
Materials Science
Graphics
Circuit and Networks II
Engineering Laboratory
Microprocessor Applications
Organic Chemistry I and II
Modern Physics
Linear Algebra
General Biology I and II
Chemistry II
Digital Electronics
Computer Science I and II


The topical coverage in the above courses will be reviewed as needed by TYESA and representatives of the Association of Engineering Colleges of New York State (AECNY).
